Overview
Expecting hundreds of early childhood care providers, elementary, k-12 schools, high school and colleges & university administrators, professors, campus police chiefs, first responders, safety professionals, and community leaders will convene at the School Response Conference 2012, which will be held on April 5-6, 2012 at the Dulles Executive Conference & Training Center.
This conference will address topics of high concern as wide as ranging school violence – transportation, suicide, school shootings, bullying, dating violence, vandalism, gang activity, alcohol and drugs, bomb threats, child abuse, vandalism, school massacres, mass casualty incidents, catastrophic events such as pandemic outbreaks, tornadoes, terrorist attacks, value of teen community and technological intrusions. Associations, academic institutions, EMS providers, and law enforcers will showcase the country’s state-wide initiatives on school defence and security for the development of the best practices for the school community.
The conference is organized around 4 themes: prepare, response, protect, & recover.
SRC 2012 mission is to update & support the urgent endeavors of whole education sectors & academe on developing effective action plans that are unique to their own communities and engage the widest range of local stakeholders to make our high schools and college campuses safe and secure & to contribute to the advancement of the local community thru the aspect of Prevention, Protection, Response, and Recovery. Real-world simulations of community response to school shootings, related tragedies, and global outbreaks will also be featured in this conference. The tabletop exercises will encourage audience participation and explore effective methods of partnerships, coordination and collaboration at the local level and relate them to a national context.
Our school's resiliency plan on major happening in such as "School Safety Security & Emergency Planning" is the focus of the SRC2012.
